Spring Friends Meeting - Snow Camp NC
July 19, 2015
TO: Clerk of North Carolina Yearly Meeting (FUM)
RE: Action on New Committee and Related Proposals
Spring Friends Meeting recognizes and appreciates the efforts of the
Clerk, Mike Fulp, in guiding the Representative Body through this
decision at this difficult time. We are thankful for his
integrity and fairness throughout this process. We fully support
Option 2, the so-called “Bless and Release” option put forth by the New
Committee. Spring Friends Meeting does not support any of the
other proposals to be before the Representative Body on August 1st and
does not step aside from this decision.
In the event the Yearly Meeting moves to implement a proposal that
requires a change to the Faith and Practice, Spring Friends Meeting
urges the Clerk and the Yearly Meeting to follow the Faith and Practice
with respect to the requirements contained therein for its
change. These requirements include the presentation of any
proposal to all monthly meetings for consideration at least two months
in advance of the session of the Yearly Meeting in which the proposal
is to be considered. (Faith and Practice, p. 105)
Spring Friends Meeting supports the concerns expressed regarding the
ongoing bullying within the NCYM. Our congregation stands by the
anti-bullying letter that was written by Max Carter, Frank Massey, and
Bill Rogers, as well as, the letter from the NCYM Personnel Committee.
We stand resolute against any bullying activity and defend those who
are subject to said offenses.

Clerk of Spring Monthly Meeting
